Dr. Shimrit Fisher is a postdoctoral researcher, a licensed clinical psychologist, and a lecturer in undergraduate psychology programs and master’s programs in clinical psychology. Her research focuses on Epistemic Trust as a central process in therapeutic change, and she leads groundbreaking research on this topic in collaboration with Prof. Peter Fonagy (UCL). As part of her research, she developed an innovative observational system for measuring epistemic trust in psychotherapy, providing a multidimensional view of therapeutic processes. In her clinical work, Shimrit treats adolescents and adults, with emphasis on treating personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and self-harm. She is trained in Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) and Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (STPP), and as a clinician-researcher, she combines a deep understanding of therapeutic processes with current research thinking.
